When you need it
- Visa applications that look at income — points-based visas, permanent residency (F-5) and sponsoring a spouse (F-6).
- Loans, leases and applications abroad that ask for proof of income.
Get it online (free)
- Log in to Hometax or Sontax. When you sign up, enter your English name in capital letters exactly as in your passport — the English certificate uses it.
- Find 소득금액증명 under certificates (민원증명), choose the tax years and the language.
- Issue and print it, or save it as a PDF.
Good to know
- Salary for a year appears after your employer files it in the spring of the following year.
- Only you can get it online. Someone acting for you must go to a tax office with a power of attorney.
- Questions: National Tax Service, call 126.
